Things to in Dublin during the day!
Make the most of our prime central location in the very heart of this popular European Capital City - we are surrounded by a host of museums, galleries, cultural centres, theatres, entertainment and shopping districts. For a comprehensive list of interesting places to visit see the 'More...' on the righthand side - we've even included some recommendations!
Wander through the various streets nearby which are full of interesting stores that beckon with wonderful window displays and tempting produce. On your very doorstep are the lively pedestrian shopping streets where buskers and street performers abound… not to mention an excellent choice of historical and cultural places of interest (such as Dublin Castle, Kilmainham Gaol) also close by and just waiting to be explored.
Pick up a tour bus at St Stephens Green - just 2 mins on foot from the Grafton Capital Hotel and explore the top attractions on offer in Dublin City. Alternatively, take your time and see some of Dublin’s most popular visits on foot, including Dublin Castle, Guinness Storehouse, St Stephens green, Christchurch, Dublin Writers museum, Custom House, Trinity College, Templebar and Kilmainham gaol, the Natural History museum to name but a few…Dublin’s theatre is legendary and no visitor should miss a performance at the Abbey, Gate, Olympia or Gaiety theatre (2 mins from the hotel). The city’s impact on the rock and pop music scene is well known (e.g.; U2 & Bob Geldof ) but traditional Irish music is also alive and kicking! Close by is a choice of several well known music pubs and others where you might be luck enough to walk in on a spontaneous live “session”…In a city of over 1 million inhabitants, it is not surprising that parks and gardens abound for recreation and relaxation! Phoenix Park in the northwest is the largest city park in Europe and is home to Dublin Zoo. On the coast, Sandymount, Dollymount and Killiney strands are the places to go and enjoy a perfect seascape on a day trip. Take the DART from Westland row and enjoy the coastal scenery en route!
