AIRPORT

 

Grafton Capital Hotel is located in the city centre, 15 km from Dublin Airport. To get to us, you can choose from a number of options:

Self Drive - there are a number of car hire companies located in the airport, although it is advisable to arrange your car hire needs prior to your arrival. If driving from the Airport, follow signs to "City Centre".

Arriving into the city follow signs for “O'Connell Street”(but do not go as far as O’Connell Street) passing through Drumcondra (tree-lined street) onto Dorset Street. Turn left onto Upper Gardiner Street and continue on down to the end of the street. At the lights at the end of the street, you have to turn left but then follow the traffic to the right bringing you to a bridge. Cross the Talbot Memorial Bridge and take an immediate right onto Georges Quay. Stay in the left hand lane; take a left turn at junction of Burgh Quay and O’Connell Bridge onto D’Olier Street. Follow the road around to the right (passing Trinity College on your left side) onto College Street. Follow the one-way system taking a right turn onto Dame Street. Continue through the next two sets of traffic lights and at the third - take a left onto “South Great Georges Street”. Continuing up Georges street take the fourth turn left onto Stephens Street Lower (i.e. the one after Fade Street). On Stephen Street, turn left onto Drury Street. The carpark is on your left hand side.

Week-end:     €20 from 4pm Friday until 12 noon Sunday

Public Transport - There are two excellent bus services, which offer regular and inexpensive transport to the city centre.

Aircoach - This service departs every 15 mins outside the Arrivals terminal at the Airport. If using the Aircoach, your drop off point is “Trinity College” (at the bottom of Grafton Street). Walk up to the top of Grafton Street (pedestrian Street) and when you come to St Stephens Green Park, turn right onto South King Street (pedestrian street). Walk to the end of South King Street and turn right. The hotel is on your left beside ‘Break for the Border’ bar.

A one-way fare from the airport is €7 and return is €12.

Another option is Dublin Bus Route Number 747 Airlink & 748 Airlink, which departs every 15 minutes from outside the Arrivals Terminal at the Airport. The one-way fare is €5 and return tickets cannot be purchased.This service will bring you into the Central Bus Station (Busarus) in the City Centre.

Taxi service - Outside of the arrivals hall there is a taxi rank. Standard taxis carry 4 persons, but you can request a seven seater. All taxis are metered, expect to pay approx €30 to get to us.

DUN LAOGHAIRE PORT

DART - The most economical and efficient access from the Port is via the inner city train, the DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transport). The stop closest to the hotel is Tara Street. Leaving the stations main entrance, turn left and continue up along the River Liffey until you reach O'Connell Bridge. Take a left onto Westmoreland street and continue on past the entrance to Trinity College onto Grafton Street (pedestrian street) Walk up to the top of Grafton Street and when you come to St Stephens Green Park, turn right onto South King Street (pedestrian street). Walk to the end of South King Street and turn right. The hotel is on your left hand side beside ‘Break for the Border’ bar

Walking time: 15 mins approx.

Bus - Alternatively there is a bus service directly from the terminal to Dublin City – the 46A; the stop closest to our hotel is Westmoreland Street. Continue up Westmoreland past the entrance to Trinity College onto Grafton Street (pedestrian street). Walk up to the top of Grafton Street and when you come to St Stephens Green Park, turn right onto South King Street (pedestrian street). Walk to the end of South King Street and turn right. The hotel is on your left hand side beside ‘Break for the Border’ bar

Walking time: 15 mins approx.

Taxi  - The taxi option is also available here and at 15 kms from the city centre, will cost in the region of €20 one way.

Self Drive - Driving to the hotel, follow the signs for the ‘City centre’ and ‘St Stephens Green’When you come to St Stephens Green, turn right and follow the one-way system around the Green. After turning 2 corners of the Green – turn right onto York Street. At the traffic lights on York Street, turn right onto Mercer Street. At the end of Mercer street, you have no option but to turn left. Turn left and take an immediate right onto a cobbled street. At the end of the cobbled street, go straight on and you will see the Drury Street Multi Storey carpark on your left hand side. Park in the Drury Street carpark and come out of the pedestrian entrance and turn right. Then turn left at the Hairy Lemon pub and the hotel is on your right hand side.

DUBLIN PORT
Located only about 3 Km from the hotel, we would recommend the best mode of transport to be a taxi.

BY RAIL

DART
- Dublin Area Rapid Transport is a fast and efficient way to get around Dublin city and suburb. “Tara Street” DART station is within close proximity to the hotel – approx 15-minutes on foot. Coming out of station turn left and continue up along the River Liffey until you reach O'Connell Bridge. Take a left onto Westmoreland street and continue on past the entrance to Trinity College onto Grafton Street (pedestrian street) Walk up to the top of Grafton Street and when you come to St Stephens Green Park, turn right onto South King Street (pedestrian street). Walk to the end of South King Street and turn right. The hotel is on your left hand side beside ‘Break for the Border’ bar

National Train Service

 

National Train Service - Our National trains service most of our main towns and cities. (Do however check in advance, as some towns are not serviced). There are two main stations in Dublin city that service our national trains:

Connolly Station - Servicing arrivals from the North and parts of the midlands. This is located approximately a 20-minute walk from the hotel. Come out of the station and cross the street at the pedestrian crossing onto Talbot street. Continue straight on until you come to O’Connell Street. At O’Connell street, turn left and go straight on until you come to O’Connell Bridge. Cross O’Connell bridge onto Westmoreland street and continue straight on past the entrance to Trinity College onto Grafton Street (pedestrian street) Walk up to the top of Grafton Street and when you come to St Stephens Green Park, turn right onto South King Street (pedestrian street). Walk to the end of South King Street and turn right. The hotel is on your left hand side beside ‘Break for the Border’ bar

Heuston Station - Servicing the South, West and parts of the midlands, this station is about 3 Km from the city centre. You may get a number 90 “Rail link” bus Tara Street Station. From Tara Street you can get a taxi to us (which should cost approx €10) or else you could walk. When you come out of the Station head towards O’Connell Bridge, walk long the Quay until you come to junction of O’Connell Bridge and Westmoreland Street. Take a right onto Westmoreland street and continue on past the entrance to Trinity College onto Grafton Street (pedestrian street) Walk up to the top of Grafton Street and when you come to St Stephens Green Park, turn right onto South King Street (pedestrian street). Walk to the end of South King Street and turn right. The hotel is on your left hand side beside ‘Break for the Border’ bar

LUAS

 

Luas Green Line - Sandyford to Stephens Green If travelling on the Luas Green Line from Sandyford, the last stop ‘Stephens Green’ is your stop. The Stephens Green Shopping Centre will be facing you when you depart the Luas, walk toward the Shopping Centre take the left turn onto South King Street (pedestrian street). Walk to the end of South King Street and turn right onto Stephen Street Lower. The hotel is on your left hand side

Luas Red Line - Tallaght to Connolly Station
If travelling on the Luas Red Line from Tallaght to the City Centre, your stop would be Abbey Street. From Abbey Street, turn right and walk up to O’Connell Street. At O’Connell Street, turn right and cross O’Connell Bridge Continue straight on to Westmoreland street and continue on past the entrance to Trinity College onto Grafton Street (pedestrian street) Walk up to the top of Grafton Street and when you come to St Stephens Green Park, turn right onto South King Street (pedestrian street). Walk to the end of South King Street and turn right. The hotel is on your left hand side beside ‘Break for the Border’ bar.
